The Lord will save us out of our distresses
am thinking of You and reflecting upon what You have promised in Psalm 107..
O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever..
They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses..
For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses..
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD..
Lord, please grant us exactly what dear Wen prayed on Sunday morning: joy in the midst of life's trials. from my heart, please continue to keep precious sis Catherine especially close to You..keep her safe, comforted and encouraged by You. Help us take heart, trust and believe wholly in You alone, Lord. Help us for we need You..
~I know I will falter
I know I will cry
I know I will lose control
I know You'll be standing by my side
It's a long long journey
And I know I need You..~

A blessed night from God
am thankful to God for seeing Anne through the recovery of her insect bite-infected foot. had the same thing happen to me last year and the doctor said that if the infection spread into the bloodstream, it can be life-threathening..thank God for preserving this dear sis and healing her so swiftly. The Lord has graciously seen Joanne through her long hospitalisation too..she is out of hospital..yay!..praise the Lord! :) So many more thanksgivings to share..blessings of our dear worship pianist Sarah's 14th birthday, of having Catherine, Jane, Jiamin and Ezra make it for Teenz, of God seeing Wen through her many Chinese, Chemistry, etc tests for the week, of Huisim's salvation, of keeping Ruth from a serious eye injury when she fainted, of watching over Ryl's safety when she hurt her thigh muscle, of blessing Melody richly with a glorious silver medal for below 17-year-olds in the cross-country race last Sat..ain't our Father wonderful? Thank you Lord so much for everything..:D
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
~ Hebrews 13:15

Hand Him the pen..
O Lamb of God, deliver me.
Give me the love that leads the way,
The faith that nothing can dismay
The hope no disappointments tire,
The passion that will burn like fire;
Let me not sink to be a clod;
Make me Thy fuel, Flame of God..
~ Amy Carmichael
What precious hidden manna in the writings of this precious missionary and wonderful woman of faith who gave up her all at a young age to serve the Lord in Southern India, Dohnavur! In His great love, God had designed a wonderful life plan for this faithful servant and He too has an incredible plan for each and every one of us on this earth. If we keep our hearts open before Him (just as dear Amy did throughout her 1 life) and completely surrender our lives to His sovereign will, He will unfold His glorious plans to us. Amy Carmichael's writings remind us that the love of Jesus Christ helps us to become dead to self and the world. It has the power to inspire and enable us to obey Him with joyful willingness. Praise God that His eternal, infinite, earthly and heavenly blessings are upon all of them that love Him and serve Him faithfully!
Just want to say from my heart that i will be keeping all of you in my thoughts & prayers, my dear Teenz brothers & sisters..our God truly has a marvellous life story for each and every one of you that totally surpasses your human imagination! His thoughts are way higher than our very thoughts for our own lives..His ways completely surpasses our ways..How amazing is the infinite nature of our Father! As His humble & feeble children seeking after His Will for our lives, all we have to do is to surrender and hand over to Him the 'pen' of our lives and let Him be the sole Author of our life story. It may be very difficult giving up certain 'storylines' that we might have in mind for our lives..personal plans crafted by our own self-centred will have to be laid upon the altar..particular painful choices or major decisions have to be made..but truly nothing beats trusting our Father with your very self, your everything, your future, your whole entire life. Our unfailing Heavenly Father created us, saved us, loves us from everlasting to everlasting..He knows us inside out, He knows each of our greatest joys, deepest thoughts, darkest trials, toughest moments, ugliest sins..He sees every tear of sadness we shed and every smile of thanksgiving from our hearts..He is aware of every single fragment, every single iota of our very being..and He definitely has the greatest, bestest and most incredible life plan in store for us. All He desires is to have your heart and your life..sincere, tender and surrendered to Him..and He will reveal far greater and mightier things for your life than you can ever imagine. That is the awesome power of our everlasting Father!
'What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?' ~ Romans 8:31-32
When you are feeling down and out, worn and hurt, ridden with painful thoughts that you simply cannot carry on in life and that you just want to give up on everything, keep in your heart the unfailing promise that you are loved with an everlasting love and underneath your very weak, broken and heavy laden soul are the everlasting arms of our loving Almighty Heavenly Father. Nothing..absolutely nothing..is too hard for Him.
Dearest Lord, thank you so much for each of our life stories that You are revealing to us day by day..as Amy penned in her poem, please grant us true and pure love that leads the way, unwavering faith that nothing can dismay, undying hope no disappointments tire, supreme passion for You that will burn like an unending fire.
In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

.Praying for our loved ones.
Dearest Heavenly Father... I pray that You will:
- Open the eyes of their hearts...they need to see You.
- Reveal Yourself to them in a way they can understand.
- Help their hearts to remain (or become) spiritually sensitive...Please don't allow their hearts to harden.
- Help them to know You with their minds AND their hearts. Jesus said that no one can come to Him unless the Father draws him. Lord, please draw them to You that they may know You.
- Let them know that it's by Your hand that all blessings come... that it's because of You that life exists... that salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone because You made it available for them.
- Help them to comprehend that the wisdom of this world is foolishness compared to Your great wisdom.
- Help them to see the difference between human advice that's faulty...& Godly advice, which is Truth that comes from You.
- Stir within their souls, Your truth, that they will know what is right, & what is wrong...Bring them to true repentance.
- Prompt them to hunger & thirst after righteousness.
- Draw them to Your Word. And as they read, quicken their hearts toward Your Truth that they may know You.
- Take away their blindness & open their spiritual eyes to Your ways..& give them ears to hear Your truths. Help them to know that You are the Truth.
- Confront them to meet their match in arguing the Bible...that they may understand Your Word IS Truth!
- Guide them to believers that will have a positive effect on them...that they will see Christ fleshed out consistently in others that they encounter.
- Prepare a spiritual mentor for them, who'll be able to exceedingly mentor them when they're ready for that special relationship.
- Lead them to be in community with those who will bring them closer to You in fellowship.
- Put a wall of protection around others that they may negatively influence.
- Call them & reveal Your Son in them. (as You called the Apostle Paul: "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen. ~ Galatians 1:15, 16)
- Send Your angels to watch over them..& point them to You in whatever situation they find themselves.
- Let them know that it's by Your hand that all blessings come -- that it's by Your hand that life exists -- that it's by Your hand that salvation is available.
- Reveal the love You have for them as their Heavenly Father.
- Help them to fall in love with You..Help them to know Your mercy and Your grace.
- Set them free from the spiritual captivity they're living in (2 Timothy 2:25).
- Tear down their strongholds. Tear down all of their excuses, reasonings, and any attractions that obstruct their vision of the Truth of Christ in their lives.
- Help them to experience Your forgiveness for their past.
- Help them to experience true healing for the hurts they have..Bring healing to their minds & thoughts where they need it.
- Give them the gift of faith so they will trust You alone as Lord.
- Direct & help them to continuously take steps closer to You in their spiritual journey.
- Help them in their wanderings to realise that life apart from living in Your will & Your way is futile & meaningless.
- Guide them to make wise decisions about their future that would prepare them for the mission You have for them.
- Lord, plant Your character deep within their hearts..Help them to develop a servant's heart.
- Help them to be givers -- not takers.
- As the "Hound of Heaven", pursue their fleeing souls..Help them to see the futility of living their lives apart from You.
- Open their eyes to the price Christ paid for their redemption. Help them to accept it, & to live a life of being Your servants with acceptance & joy.
- Minister to their souls that they may know You.
- Help them to see that if they've missed Jesus..they've missed everything.
- Grant them Holy moments in their lives where the presence of God is undeniable.
- Help them to come to the place where they will worship You & will see it as a joyous privilege...that they will be seized with utmost gratitude.
- May the truth of God's word -- which they had previously hid in their hearts -- be "replayed" in their minds so that they will see Christ for who He really is.
- Reveal Truth that's now hidden to them: their sin -- and the truths they think are false.
- Teach them so they will be able to discern what is truth and what is not. (Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. ~ 1 Corinthians 2:12-13)
- Give them a fresh passion for You Lord, so they will follow, and serve You.
- Give me the insight to respond to them in Your wisdom..Show me when to speak of You & when to be silent.
- Help me to have the discernment as a mentor/ friend/ parent to know when to help, and when to stay back, & let go..& let God.
- Help me to obediently "walk the walls" around their disbelief; hedging them in prayer..until together, we see the walls fall in spiritual victory..as the walls of Jericho fell miraculously by Your guidance.
..And Lord, I humbly pray, that if You can use anything to draw them to Yourself..You can use me. Thank You Lord for what You can and will do in Your unfailing power and might..
Lord, help me to never lose hope in any difficult situation. I believe that nothing is impossible with You. I pray that You will bring loved ones, dear friends & their families to the glorious hope, love, and life that they can have because of You. May all know Your way, Truth, & the abundant life You have for them because of Your amazing grace! Keep me always praying, always hoping, always believing in You..’behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee..’ ~ Jeremiah 32:17b

This Thing Is From Me
That today you do not understand,
When farther along, you shall look back and see,
That it came from thy dear Master’s hand.
This thing, that has troubled and caused thee such pain,
Loss of what you held precious and dear,
When the fire had refined thee, the dross is all gone,
Then the reason, My child, will be clear.
This thing is from Me, the long, lonely trail,
Where you wonder just why it should be,
Forgetting the vision He gave thee that day,
When He whispered, My child, follow Me --
Alone, on a road that was rugged and steep,
No form, but thy Lord’s could you see;
This, then, is the answer to the question you ask,
This thing, My dear child, is from Me.
So, think it not strange, turn not thou aside,
Nor shrink from the heat of the flame,
For gold must be melted and faith must be tried
Till the cross with its glory and shame,
The hope of His coming, the power of His Name,
Thy most precious possessions shall be.
When shadows are darkest, remember His Word,
This thing, My dear child, is from Me.
The thorns in the path, the friends who have failed,
The cross that seems heavy to bear,
The crowd and the shouting that left you unstirred,
And wondering just why you were there --
How precious His presence, when low at His feet,
In secret where no one can see,
Once again to remember His whisper of love;
This thing, My dear child, is from Me.

Praise the Lord!
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
~ Psalm 112:1-10

15.2.06

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
~ Isaiah 61:1-11
14.2.06
With Him lies the victory..
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
~Ephesians 6:10-18~
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
~1 John 5:4~
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

10.2.06
Chesed~*

Chesed is a daily requirement -- which means it is a lifetime requirement -- and it is most succinctly manifested in the act of giving. It implies attitudes integral to the person's character, inseparable from one's inner nature, and spans the whole gamut of virtues which operate in interpersonal relationships -- charity and compassion, love and respect.
The Chesed of God
* The whole meaning, purpose and end of Scripture is to reveal to us that God is Love and that God's Love is unconditional and unending. "God is Love and He who abides in Love, abides in God and God in Him"
* God's Steadfast Love is summed up and powerfully expressed in the strong and multivalent Hebrew word 'Chesed'
* The whole meaning, purpose and end of our lives as Christians is to discover the Chesed of God and respond to it joyfully, lovingly and fully. "I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly"
* Our approach to everything -- everything -- is to be always in the context of the Chesed of God.
* We are to have a deep, sustained, steadfast commitment to reversing the trend of negativity, hatefulness, spitefulness, name-calling, personal attacks, ridicule, politics and power struggles, absolutism, self-righteousness, rush to judgement and an us vs. them mentality.
* Not one word of uncharitableness is to creep into our speaking or our writing. Our vocation is to be one of reconciliation and understanding and caring. Our goal is to build trust and trustworthiness within ourselves and in our relationships.
* When we have insights to which we believe we are called to bear witness, we will do so always by building up and showing the positive aspects of our understanding of the situation, never by tearing down any other position.
* Anything that cannot be reconciled with the Chesed of God is to be rejected as unworthy, but our aim is to reconcile all things.
* Whenever we are tempted to think that a certain doctrine or practice or person is stupid, ugly, vicious, ungodly or heretical, we will sternly refuse to indulge in making that judgement. Instead, we will humbly acknowledge that the clarity that could possibly reconcile this doctrine or practice or person with the Chesed of God is not yet within our grasp.
* If we say that something seems to be at variance with the principles of the Chesed of God, we are always to be explicitly aware that this conclusion might be the result of our own blindness. We must always remain open to further understanding, further inspiration, further reconciliation. We are to constantly practice a humility before the Mystery of God that says, I will never know it all nor will I ever come to a point where I have fully grasped "the Truth"
* On the other hand -- as Our Lord commanded, the Chesed of God is to be the measure of all things. Jesus is the Chesed of God incarnate. Therefore, Jesus Christ is to be our measure.
* It is very dark at the bottom of a deep well, but it is also the place where the spring enters, refreshing, cleansing and clearing the water. The spring we seek is that from which flows the water of eternal life that Jesus promised, and He calls us to find it at the center, in the depths of the Father's Heart, where we will experience His Chesed directly as well as on behalf of the community of the church.
Our Broken World
* Our broken world desperately needs prayer, repentance, healing, and the hope of the Chesed of God. In other words, our broken world desperately needs salvation.
* We cannot effectively share the Good News of the Chesed of God made manifest in Jesus the Christ until we have personally known the Chesed of God.
*~Dearest Lord Jesus Christ,
please reveal Your steadfast, unfailing chesed to all..~*
Lord, the hurt runs so deep
Those are the times we let our precious Jesus carry us and gently fill our cup.
An ounce of strength is just not there.
This is when we must trust and know how much our Savior really does care.
This is when many get mad at God and just pull away.
It's easy to just say 'God, You don't care' and just begin to stray.
We don't realize God's heart is hurt more by leading us through this pain.
Holding on tighter is the key, rest assured God will wipe away every stain.
Why me God? Why does this have to happen to me?
I know behind this cloud of doubt - You hold the light and someday I will finally see.
Point me in the direction Lord - show me the road You want me to take.
Write upon my heart and Your claim I will surely stake.
Light my path with Your glourious desire.
Set my feet firm and fill my heart with fire.
Your Glory I will proclaim.
And I will do nothing to put out this flame.
Give me the people You choose for me to touch.
Teach me Your prayers and how to love them so very much.
Silver is only pure after it has been put through the fire.
But even in the fire, the path to You is the one I desire.
I've come to know - if my love for You grows even in the pain,
I'll come through this fire and You will wipe away every stain.
You were beside Daniel in the Lion's Den - I know You are by my side
And this battle we will surely win.
My thoughts now turn to building up my crowns.
All I ask is to help me through my battle without a frown.
Give me the strength not to say Lord 'Why Me?'
Just guide me to others that I may help to set free..
~ Sharon Lambkin
Bearing the Cross
Lord, this seems to be far more than I can handle;
I am lost in the darkness and I don't have a candle.
Lord, where are You? Where did You go?
How could You leave me during my times of woe?
My back is bent with a heavy burden.
Lord, can't You see how much I am hurting?
I suffer pain, grief, and fears,
as well as temptations, frustrations, and tears.
You know how often I've fallen down, Lord, and how hard my life has been.
How often have I made You frown, Lord, by falling into sin.
I counted up all the crosses that You gave me, Lord, to bear.
At first, I thought You had done this because You didn't love me, and did not care.
But after I carried them farther than a mile, I stopped, and I really thought for a while.
I then realized that You gave me these crosses to make me strong.
And You were with me the whole time, Lord; You were there all along.
You really DO love me, Lord, and You gave me them to bear
so that I would become stronger, and learn just how much You really care.
And as heavy as these crosses might seem to be, I know that they are really quite light--when compared to the cross that Jesus bore for this world on that holy night.
Lord, I know that You will never give me something that I cannot handle.
And Lord, Your love has lightened my darkness;
You are my missing candle.
I am relying on You, Lord, to lead me on the road that leads to my Heavenly Goal.
And even though the path is narrow,
I'll still follow Christ, the Shining Arrow
that will lead me on the road through pain and strife--
so that in the end, I may wear that Crown of Life..

The Dark Times of Life
You never thought it would
Suddenly so much can change
With so little that's understood
You ask so many questions
It seems without reply
Your heart is pained with so much doubt
And unanswered questions 'why'
It's almost like we walk through life
Just feeling our way around
We can't see the road ahead
Nor our feet on the ground
Darkness is all about us
We struggle to see the light
Just a glimmer now and then
But then fades out of sight
We cry out to God again
To show us where to go
He says 'Just take another stepT
o where peace freely flows'
And as we keep on taking steps
Guided by the Lord
We find in time, we walk intoThe joy we knew before
It's in those times of darkness
When we feel we've lost all hope
God can do a work in us
That brings a deeper growth
So when we face the dark times
We should come before the Lord
For good will come if we believe
And hope shall be restored.

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away..
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

His love is the answer..

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

~ John Bunyan
The Church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men…men of prayer.
~ E. M. Bounds
So when we sing, 'Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,' we are not thinking of the nearness of place, but of the nearness of relationship. It is for increasing degrees of awareness that we pray, for a more perfect consciousness of the divine Presence. We need never shout across the spaces to an absent God. He is nearer than our own soul, closer than our most secret thoughts.

nothing is impossible with Him..
~Hudson Taylor

Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:5-11

And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee..

God is in all our tomorrows..
Therefore I'll live for today,
Confident of finding at sunrise,
His joy and strength for the way;
Strength for each moment of weakness,
Hope for each moment of pain,
Comfort for all my sorrow,
Sunshine and joy after rain.
God is in all my tomorrows,
He planned it for you and for me;
With Him in the dark I will follow,
Trusting where eyes cannot see,
Quieted by His promise of blessing,
Stilled by the touch of His hand,
Confident of His protection,
Knowing my life He has planned.
God is in all my tomorrows,
Life with heartaches may come,
But He's always behind and before me,
While ahead in the distance I see Home;
Home, where there will be no tomorrow,
Nor time ever wrinkle my brow,
Home, ever present with Jesus,
Throughout all eternity, Now!
